Do You Have Chronic Pain?
Chronic Pain is pain that persists longer than the temporal course of natural healing, associated with a particular type of injury or disease process. It is rare to completely achieve absolute and sustained relief of pain. Thus, the clinical goal is pain management. The importance of comprehensive pain programs in the management of chronic pain is widely recognized.
Evaluating Your Pain
Can you describe the pain?
How would you rate the pain using a scale from 0 to 10?
When did the pain start and how long does it last?
Is the pain worse during certain times of the day or night?
Where on your body are you experiencing pain?
Does the pain move or travel?
Have you taken any medications to relieve the pain?
Have you noticed particular activities or positions that aggravate the pain?
